HISTORY

In 2025, the owner and founder of Mustang Motorsport purchased this Shelby Mustang from a private owner in California, who was a member of the Shelby American Automobile Club. The car was a genuine one-owner example with low kilometres.

The car was purchased specifically for the owner of Mustang Motorsport to drive in the 2025 Shelby Bash, an annual event organised by Team Shelby and held in Las Vegas.

The purchase was completed remotely through photographs and discussions with the owner, Joe. Before the purchase, the Shelby was inspected by the team at South Bay Ford in Hawthorne, California, receiving a clean bill of health.

Upon arriving in the USA a few days before the Shelby Bash, the owner collected the car from South Bay Ford. While there, he transformed the Shelby with a distinctive appearance inspired by his own Tarmac Rally race cars. The South Bay Ford team were impressed with the transformation.

Accompanied by his good friend John MacKenzie, they then set off on a road trip to Las Vegas, staying at South Point, where many of the 2025 Shelby Bash activities were held.

The Shelby Bash brings together owners and members from across the USA who share a passion for Shelby Mustangs. The event includes social drives, dining, poker runs and the opportunity to drive at Spring Mountain. It is primarily about enjoying the cars, meeting fellow enthusiasts and having fun rather than serious competition.

After the Shelby Bash, the pair continued their road trip to Phoenix to visit family in Cave Creek. During their stay, they also enjoyed some boating on the many lakes surrounding the Phoenix area.

Once the trip was complete, they drove back to Los Angeles, where the Shelby was delivered to Kiwi Shipping for its journey home to Australia.

Matt from Kiwi Shipping arranged the vehicles shipment to Australia, where it arrived approximately four months later. Upon arrival, the Shelby was stored and displayed in the Mustang Motorsport showroom, awaiting its right-hand-drive conversion by Crossover Car Conversions, Australias leading specialist in high-quality vehicle conversions.

Importantly, this Shelby has never been registered in Australia. Since arriving in Australia, it has remained a display vehicle within the Mustang Motorsport showroom and has not been registered for road use in Australia.
